LONDON, APRIL 6
Manchester City's Argentine defender Martin Demichelis has accepted the charges of "misconduct" levelled against him by the Football Association (FA), for flouting betting rules.
Manchester City defender Martin Demichelis will not contest a Football Association charge over alleged betting offences.
The Argentina international, 35, is alleged to have committed 12 breaches of the FA rule E8 concerning football matches between January 22 and 28 this year, repors Efe.
Gambling rules introduced in 2014 forbid players and coaches from betting on any footballing activity worldwide.
The player is currently in Paris with his English side to face Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Over the coming days, the FA will decide on Demichelis's punishment, whether a fine or suspension.
FA rule E8 forbids any football player from betting, directly or indirectly on match results.
