POCSO Court awards 20 years RI to Pulekhoyi Tetseo in minor rape case investigated by Phek Police.

DIMAPUR — A Special Court under the POCSO Act in Phek district has sentenced a man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment in a case involving repeated sexual assault of a minor girl that resulted in pregnancy.
According to a press release issued by Phek Police, the court on February 18, found the accused, Pulekhoyi Tetseo, guilty and awarded 20 years rigorous imprisonment along with a fine.
Police said a written complaint was received on February 12, 2025 from a resident of Chozuba town reporting multiple instances of sexual assault of a minor girl. The victim, aged 14 at the time, became pregnant. The accused was identified as the girl’s uncle, with whom she had been living as his adopted daughter.
In connection with the complaint, a case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the POCSO Act and taken up for investigation.

The case was investigated by Phek Police, who documented forensic and circumstantial evidence before filing charges.
Upon conclusion of the trial, the court found the accused guilty of the charges framed against him and pronounced sentence on February 18.
In the release, Phek Police stated that the conviction was achieved with the support of the investigating officer, Sakhi One Stop Centre, Phek, the district administration, the prosecution team and witnesses. It added that the conviction underscores legal action against crimes involving children and reiterated commitment to ensuring safety of women and children in the district.
