Kohima, June 19 (EMN): An elderly person was reportedly found dead late Sunday evening in the premises of the Naga Heritage village, Kisama.
The deceased has been identified as Shürho Sebastian Solo, a septuagenarian from Kohima village, and a resident of New Ministers’ Hill, Kohima. The body was said to have been found lying on the ground near a tribal morung.
Police sources say they were alerted at around 9.30 pm. Upon reaching the spot, they conducted formalities and handed over the dead body to the family members. It was reported that the dead body bore head injury. Although the police said investigation was on, they refused to comment if foul play was suspected.Meanwhile, sources close to the family of the deceased said the possibility of a criminal act could not be ruled out, particularly with the “mysterious wound on his forehead”. It was reported that Solo got a call before he left his house.
Late Shürho was regarded a prominent citizen who, during his prime years, had served in the medical department and was a known footballer. It is said that he had also served the people in his locality as the colony chairman. A funeral service was held on Monday afternoon at his residence in New Ministers’ Hill.
