Dimapur, Oct. 16: In a shocking incident, a man from Delhi was robbed and attacked by two unidentified persons near the sub-urban police station at Signal Basti in Dimapur, in the early hours of Oct. 15.
According to a reliable source, the victim, one SC Shukla (in his late 50s) is the CEO of Saiprasad Green Power Private Ltd. in New Delhi. It was informed that the victim had reached Blue Hill bus station in Dimapur at around 3 am on Oct. 15 from Imphal.
The source informed that the victim wanted to retire at a hotel close to the station. Being new to Dimapur, he was approached by two men, one non-Naga and the other a Naga, telling him that they could take him to a hotel and "directly brought him towards Signal Angami road," the source informed.
He was then assaulted and robbed of his phone, wallet and ‘important documents concerning people with disabilities’ at a location between 'a petrol pump' and the sub-urban police station, it was informed.
The assailants "punched him and tore his shirt and pockets," the source said. The victim was said to be travelling to Dimapur to meet some organisations on the same day i.e Oct. 15 and leave for Meghalaya on Oct. 16.
A First Information Report (FIR) was lodged at the sub-urban police station on Oct. 15, the source informed.
