Dimapur, Oct. 27 (EMN): Malaria elimination programme for Phek district was formally launched by Kovi Meyase, Deputy Commissioner, Phek, in the DC’s conference hall on October 27 on the theme “End malaria for good.”
Speaking on the occasion, Kovi Meyase expressed confidence that under the stewardship of NVBDCP in collaboration with various stakeholders, the goal of eliminating malaria in the district could be achieved. He urged the department to intensify sensitising and awareness programme to the community.
Dr. Keholi, DVBO Phek, presented the overview of national framework for malaria elimination and the epidemiologist of the district.
The programme was chaired by Sedeu Rupreo, District programme manager NHM, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Khrusayi Khamo, District consultant NVBDCP, Phek.
Representatives from various departments including CDPO, DWO, Fishery, NGO,NVBDCP staff from all the blocks and staff of CMO, Phek, attended the programme.
