Dimapur, June 9
A meeting of Dimapur & Peren District Level Vigilance & Monitoring Committee, chaired by Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio was held here at DC Conference Hall today.
The department of rural development, social welfare, public health engineering and land resources from Dimapur and Peren presented reports on the progress of various schemes and projects undertaken in respective districts.
In his address, Rio directed the department to report on the factual implementation of projects and schemes to their local MLAs so that they are monitored and actually carried out at the grassroots level.
He also reminded the district administration to ensure that in such important meeting, all respective officers from the district be present.
In order to make Dimapur a smart city, Rio said, sufficient space, population and basic facilities are required and that is possible only if there is co-operation from the public, especially on the issue of land acquisition.
“Nagas are stuck up in our own problem which we ourselves created, we don’t think collectively which we need to if we are to progress as a people,” he said and added, government employees are government servants and in order to deliver good we have to behave like one.
