A major disaster was averted early Tuesday morning when a team of firefighters managed to douse a fire that broke out from inside a workshop for motor vehicles called Saramati Motors, at Naharbari village in Dimapur.
According to Dimapur Fire Brigade, the incident occurred at around 6.30 am on Tuesday. Four vehicles kept inside the workshop were destroyed in the fire, it was informed. The worth of properties lost/damaged has been estimated to be around Rs 30 lakhs while properties worth Rs 50 lakhs were salvaged, according to Dimapur Fire Brigade.
Four fire tenders were used to douse the inferno, which was reportedly caused by an electrical short-circuit. Saramti Motors is owned by Kavito Yepthomi.
