Dimapur, May 5 (EMN): In a massive administrative reshuffle carried out by the Shurhozelie administration, State government has affected more than 200 transfers of administrative officers including IAS, NCS and NSS officers.
The most significant aspect of the transfer order was the removal of one of the senior-most Naga IAS officers, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Temjen Toy, who has been shunted out as Finance Commissioner (FC) and is to be replaced by Abhijit Sinha. This is the third time that Toy is being touched in a matter of months. He was earlier posted in the Chief Minister's Office before being replaced and is now removed as FC. Even when Toy was with the CMO, he was holding charge of FC. Some transfers and postings were affected on promotions of the officers.
Dozens of administrative officers in the field including the districts have been reshuffled perhaps with an eye on the forthcoming elections. Interestingly, in some headquarters, like Chiephobozou, although most the officers were transferred out their replacements were not notified in the current order.
There is also speculation that a massive, if not, similar exercise is on the cards for police officers as well.
