Maharashtra, Mizoram win at Dr. T Ao Junior Girls National Football Championship

Maharashtra defeats Himachal Pradesh 14-0 while Mizoram beats Madhya Pradesh 4-2 in Dr. T Ao Junior Girls National Football Championship.

DIMAPUR — Maharashtra and Mizoram registered victories in their respective matches of the ongoing Dr. Talimeren Ao Junior Girls National Football Championship 2025–26 (Tier-II) at the Chümoukedima Football Stadium on Thursday.


In the first match, Maharashtra defeated Himachal Pradesh 14-0.


Just 30 seconds in, Maharashtra’s Aarna opened the scoring. Ipshita doubled the lead in the first minute. Aarna added a third goal by the 14-minute mark. By the close of the first half, Maharashtra had added a fourth goal at the 27-minute mark through captain Aysha.

Maharashtra dominated possession with 76% of the ball, creating 30 shots on target, while Himachal Pradesh managed just one shot on target.


In the second half, Aarna scored in the 54th and 90+4 minutes, completing a four-goal haul. Captain Aysha scored five goals in the 27th, 74th, 85th, 86th, and 90+1 minutes.

Other scorers included Aria in the 64th minute, Aanshi in the 71st, Poonam in the 78th, and Sharvari in the 80th minute.


In the second match, Mizoram secured a 4–2 victory over Madhya Pradesh. Despite the result, neither team managed to qualify for the knockout stage.


Mizoram took the lead in the 30th minute through Loisy. Madhya Pradesh equalised in the 46th minute through Khushi Parte. Mawipuii restored Mizoram’s lead in the 49th minute. However, Komal Saket of Madhya Pradesh equalised again in the 59th minute.


Mawipuii scored her second goal in the 74th minute to put Mizoram ahead, and Nunpuii added the fourth goal in the 81st minute to seal the victory.
