Parliamentary Secretary for Information Technology & Communication, Science & Technology, Technical Education and Taxes, Tovihoto Ayemi graced Magnificat Fiesta at NEZCC amphitheatre as the chief patron on Saturday evening. The Magnificat Fiesta is an annual pre-Christmas extravaganza organized by The Coming Generation (TCG).
In his address, Tovihoto lauded the organizers of the event with its primary focus to make a journey of fellowship and celebrate togetherness with the purpose between cultures inter and intra national. He expressed delight to witness the performances of varied musical talents, drama and Taekwondo demonstration by various groups both local and regional.
“All these performances show us the talents and skills that are available with the people of Northeast region,” Tovihoto said while he also encouraged the performers to utilize their skills and talents for the good of the society and to promote a culture of bringing people together.
“Celebration of togetherness should not stop with this programme, but must go beyond. This joyous atmosphere must spread beyond the NEZCC amphitheatre and reach out even to those people who could not attend today’s programme,” he said.
The programme was also attended by Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Justice, Jacob Zhimomi.
Nagaland Chamber Choir, Voices of Hope, Nagaland Singing Ambassadors, Mami Varte, Henry Varte, Azeena Pamei, Dreamz Unlimited were some of the artists that took part in the Magnificat Fiesta.
The local and regional artistes who were part of the fiesta exhibited excellent talents and composed of arts. The local cake bakers served the taste of local entrepreneurs indicating the signs of many talents and skills hidden amongst our local youth. Fiesta Cake was presented by TRGU Vocation Centre, while the programme ended with prayer led by Rev. Candid Sareo.
The Coming Generation is an NGO working with young people in the endeavour of innovation, education and learning for life with the motto – ‘Leading the Lead’.
The Magnificat Fiesta is being supported by the international partners from Osiris International - Malaysia; a youth based corporate led by vibrant young leaders and KPD Foundation - Nurturing the Future - a New Zealand based organization which provides services to charitable organization to make significance in the governance of the civil society.
Meanwhile, the members of The Coming Generation and organizers of Magnificat Fiesta have expressed gratitude to Parliamentary Secretaries Tovihoto and Jacob Zhimomi for the support and presence
The Magnificat Fiesta has also expressed gratitude to the youth department of Zeliangrong Baptist Church, Chumukedima, Diphupar Naga Student Union, well-wishers and friends who made the programme a success.
“We will continue to solicit your support and endeavour in the days to come to make an impact of change in the society we live,” it said.
