M Noke Trophy: Mavericks FC are champions

[caption id="attachment_279016" align="alignnone" width="550"] Mavericks FC with their champions trophy after winning 14th edition of M Noke Trophy on October 23.[/caption] Dimapur, Oct. 23 (EMN): Mavericks FC lifted the 14^th M Noke Trophy after beating Honlao United Sporting Club 2-0 in the final match in Mon on October 23. An update received here on Wednesday informed that Wennyei Konyak, project director, DRDA, was the guest of honour for the final match of the trophy which was organised by Mon District Football Association. Konyak encouraged the youth to take up sports as a career. David and Ellungrai scored a goal apiece in the final to help Mavericks FC win the championship title. The champions walked away with a cash prize of INR 1, 25, 000, trophy and certificates, while the runners-up, Honlao United Sporting Club, received INR 80, 000 and certificates. Winners of individual awards:

• Player of the Tournament: Tngnyek Konyak of Honlao United Sporting Club
• Highest Scorer: David Konyak of Mavericks FC
• Best Defender: Thokwang Konyak of Honlao United Sporting Club
• Best Goalkeeper: Eangtok of Mavericks FC
