The two day Luyong Valley Festival 2017 culminated on Dec. 22 with a solo competition with some of the most promising and upcoming young singers in Tuli area (under Mokokchung district).
The closing programme was graced by former Chief Secretary, Alemtemshi Jamir IAS as chief guest.
A press release issued by the organising committee mentions that the festival held on the theme ‘Reinvigorating Lives’ witnessed an array of activities and competition where youths from in and around the Tuli area actively participated during the two-day festival; with dignitaries from the district administration, political parties, domestic tourists from neighbouring Assam state.
On the last evening, retired Chief Secretary Alemtemshi Jamir said that such festival shows hope and a bright future for growth, with more tourists coming to Luyong valley to witness the festival in the years to come.
While saying that he was deeply impressed with the talented voices of the participants, Jamir said that he sees a lot of talents among the Naga youths especially in the field of music.
In this connection, Alemtemshi Jamir, who is also the Working president of the newly floated NDPP, said that the party was formed so as to work for the welfare, development and future of the youths.
On the last night, the young upcoming singers belted out soul-rendering cover songs from famous singers like Whitney Houston, Ed Sherran, etc much to the enjoyment of the audience, the judges and the visitors.
