Dimapur, Nov. 27 (EMN): The Lukikhe village observed 125th anniversary on Nov. 23 at the public ground, Lukikhe village, with Secretary of Finance and Land Resources department, Y Kikheto Sema as chief guest.
Unveiling the monolith, the chief guest said that anniversary is a time to cherish the fond memories of the past and claim the future blessings.
Pointing out the conflicts was continuous killing which was widely prevalent during our forefathers’ time, Kikheto said their courage and sacrifices for the safeguarding the village should be honored.
He also appreciated the head GB of Lukikhe for initiating peace between the tribes in the border areas for peaceful atmosphere.
“Let us not forget to pay respect to our elders who are the source of all kinds of blessings” Kikheto said.
Stating that Nagas are very fortunate to be placed in a fertile land, he encouraged the people to be more keen and diligent in cultivation.
The chief guest also released the 125th Anniversary magazine and also inaugurated concrete approach road and Public Ground, Lukikhe village
The celebration was marked with various cultural shows and choreography of transition (1892 - 2017) performed by men, women folk and children of Lukikhe village.
Earlier, the village gate was dedicated by Pastor AVBC Rev. Vikuto. The function was chaired by Director Land Resources Hoto Yeptho while welcome address was delivered by head GB Lashito Yeptho and vote of thanks was proposed by advisor of Sumi Hoho Toniho P Yeptho. Village chairman, Khahovi Yepthomi also spoke at the programme.
