Loyola school celebrates St. Ignatius feast

[caption id="attachment_197784" align="aligncenter" width="500"] Students presenting a song on the occasion of St. Ignatius feast.[/caption] Dimapur, July 28 (EMN): Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of Jesuit Order and patron of the school, was commemorated at Loyola Higher Secondary School Church, Jakhama, the first mission centre of the Jesuits good news ministry in Nagaland, on July 28 with Rev. Fr. Joseph Chittissery SDB, Rector of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Kohima, as the main celebrant. The official feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola is on July 31. Rev. Fr. Joseph Chittissery had highlighted on the life of saints from Jesuit congregation. The present Pope Francis is a Jesuit priest, said Rev. Fr. Chittissery. The rector also recalled how Mother Teresa shared the love of Jesus in the street of Kolkata. The Rev.challenged the large gathering of faithful people to serve Jesus for the greater glory of God. Rev. Fr. Charles D’Souza SJ, parish priest of Mary Help of Christians, Jakhama, gave a brief introduction of St. Ignatius and the role of the Jesuits ministry in promoting education, global peace and justice. Rev. Fr. Victor D’Mello SJ, principal of Loyola Higher Secondary School, delivered words of gratitude. Priests and nuns from different parts of the state and neighbouring villages including old pupils joined the sacred ceremony.
