Dimapur, Oct. 18 (EMN): A total of 13 goals were scored in just two matches on the eight day of the ongoing 27th Loyem Memorial Trophy on Friday.
In the first match of the day, Hügel Hifler Senior defeated Skipper Young FC 3-1, informed an update from the organisers of the tournament.
Puchai of Skipper Young scored the first goal of the match but Hügel Hifler Senior fought back and eventually came out winners after Hopong, Bemolemba and Lemba scored a goal each in the 46th, 49th and 58th minutes.
It was the second match of the day, DEF Tuensang thrashed Laiket Lembou Seadogs 9-0. John of DEF Tuensang scored four goals in the 12th, 33rd, 36th and 55th minutes, while Yemjong scored two goals in the 8th and 19th minutes. Natoba, Pongjai and Meren scored a goal each in the 25th, 46th and 59th minutes.
It was the second time that 13 goals have been conceded in just two matches in this tournament. A similar scene was witnessed on October 16 when Nyenshen FC thrashed Laiket Lembou Seadogs 12-0 and United Saksi FC defeated Skipper Young FC 1-0.
