Dimapur, Aug. 7 (EMN): Lovito Village Council today vehemently condemned what it termed as ‘cruel and barbaric’ act of kidnap for ransom and subsequent cold-blooded brutal murder of one of its ‘innocent’ member, Kumgha Chisgi, son of Ahokhe Chishi, chairman of the village council.
A press note signed by five members of the council, strongly urged the executive and the judiciary to award befitting punishment to the criminals without leniency as per the law of the land.
The council while urging the law enforcement agencies not to grant bail to the criminals in any form till justice is served, it further appealed for thorough investigation into the case so that the accused receive exemplary punishment according to their deeds.
Also, the Lotovi students’ union (LSU) has vehemently condemned the kidnapping and murder of a 15 years old boy, Kumugha, son of Ahokhe Chishi, on July 30 allegedly by Baharul Islam (21); Odyothung Odyuo @ Vikai (42); Kiyeka Assumi (28); and Abdul Kalam (33).
While expressing solidarity with KGPO, WSH, WSYF and other organisations, the union president, Kaito H Chishi and the general secretary, Monica Mech, have appeal to the law enforcing agency to give all out effort and spare no stone unturned to punish the culprits as deemed fit.
LSU stated that such ‘blood thirsty criminals’ should not be allowed to go scot free without being dealt with according to the law. The union further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty God to grant them strength and peace in their hour of grief.
