DIMAPUR — The Lotha Welfare Forum Delhi (LWFD) hosted a virtual felicitation ceremony on August 15 to honour Eric Yanthan for securing Rank 1 for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) through the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC).
According to an update, the event brought together family members, Lotha elders, academicians, community leaders, students, and well-wishers to celebrate his achievement.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Zuchamo Yanthan, Eric’s uncle, attributed his success to disciplined focus, sustained hard work, determination, and faith. He observed that Eric's journey serves as an inspiration to young aspirants and encouraged him to carry his new responsibility with humility, integrity, and commitment to public service.
Dr. Rembemo Odyuo, Eric’s maternal uncle, reflected on his character, stating that Eric has been a humble and well-mannered young man whose warmth and genuine nature have earned him the goodwill of the community.
Speaking on behalf of the Delhi Lotha elders, Benrithung Murry congratulated Eric and spoke on the responsibilities that accompany public service, encouraging young people to cultivate integrity, compassion, humility, and ethical leadership. Further felicitations were extended by Rendemo Tsanglao on behalf of the LSUD and Wobeni Kithan on behalf of the LWFD. A token of appreciation was presented to Eric by Dr. Zubenthung Humtsoe on behalf of the forum.
During an interactive session with students and competitive examination aspirants, Eric shared his preparation strategies, recommended reading materials, and personal experiences. He stressed consistency, self-discipline, patience, perseverance, and effective time management as essential qualities for competitive examinations.
Eric expressed his gratitude to his family, mentors, friends, and the community for their constant support. He encouraged young aspirants to remain focused and resilient, particularly during moments of uncertainty.
