Dimapur, June 2 (EMN): The Lotha Hoho has expressed surprise that the Naga Hoho ‘is still unaware of its dissociation from the Naga Hoho since 2008.’
A statement from the Lotha Hoho on Saturday read: “This dissociation of Lotha Hoho from Naga Hoho was due to differences in the election of the president of NH at Phek in 2008. This fact had been reaffirmed by the LH and published in all local media on the 6th September 2016. Hence the Lotha Hoho will not recognise any Lotha individual or organisation, who may attend any programme/meeting of the NH; but such an individual or organisation is deemed as self-styled and illegal.”
It also refuted the Naga Hoho’s claim that “organisations are being asked by a Naga national organisation not to attend the federal assembly of the NH.” Its dissociation from the Naga Hoho was “based on the rift between the two hohos at Phek in 2008,” according to the statement.
“The LH therefore once again reaffirm its dissociation from the Naga Hoho since 2008 and will continue to remain so. The Naga Hoho may also be reminded that the Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC), of which the LH is a constituent unit, had also dissociated from the Naga Hoho, vide media publication of 1st September 2016.”
