Dimapur, September 5 : At the backdrop of the disassociation of Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) from Naga Hoho, the Lotha Hoho today asserted that it will not participate in the consultative meeting at Japfu Hotel, Kohima on September 7 convened by Naga Hoho and also clarified that any member participating for consultation/discussion with the Naga Hoho will be doing so as an individual and cannot represent the Lotha community, and that the individual will be responsible personally.
Reacting to recent press statement of Naga Hoho on CNTC, the Lotha Hoho appreciated for clarifying that Lotha Hoho was currently not affiliated to the Naga Hoho.
“It is true that after the exit of the erstwhile Kyong Hoho, by mass resignation of its office bearers and executive members, on the 15/9/2015, the Lotha Hoho has not officially affiliated with the Naga Hoho.”
Lotha Hoho chairman Mhao Humtsoe and general secretary Er.Mhondamo Ovung in a press note clarified that the representative of the then Kyong Hoho to the Naga Hoho is co-terminus with the resignation of the Kyong Hoho and hence, there is currently no representative of the Lotha Hoho to the Naga Hoho.
“However, if there is any one at the Naga Hoho, falsely representing the Lotha Hoho, the same is self-styled and such a person will be doing so at own risk. Further the Lotha Hoho may file FIR, if necessity arises, and legal action will be initiated against such a false representation, since the Lotha Hoho has not officially nominated any representative to the Naga Hoho.”
The Lotha Hoho said it has received copy of the Naga Hoho circular dated 31st August 2016 (circulated on behalf of both NH and ENPO), for consultative meeting at Japfu Hotel, Kohima on 7th Sept on Lotha Hoho PIL on NP & NG.
It said, the circular has been officially endorsed to the president and colleagues of the Lotha Ex-Parliamentarians Forum (LEPF). The Lotha Hoho clarified that since the Ex-Lotha Parliamentarians no longer represent the people, the LEPF, as a body/forum can function for the welfare of its members and not on behalf of the Lotha community.
Meanwhile, a separate press release issued by ENPO general secretary Manlang Phom informed that Eastern Nagaland Peoples' Organisation (ENPO) and Naga Hoho have convened a joint consultation meeting with Lotha Hoho, PIL petitioners on P&NG, Lotha Legislators and Lotha Ex-Parliamentarians on September 7 at Hotel Japfu Kohima at 11 a.m and all mentioned organizations have been requested to attend the proposed meeting without fail in the larger interest of the Naga people.
