DIMAPUR — The Lotha Hoho, Medziphema town, celebrated its golden jubilee, coinciding with Tokhü Emong festival, at multipurpose hall, Nagaland University: SAS, Medziphema town, on Thursday.
The jubilee celebration was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton as the special guest and Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Zhaleo Rio as the guest of honour, an update stated.
The deputy CM extended jubilee greetings to the Lotha community of Medziphema town, congratulating them on completing 50 years.
Patton urged the members of Lotha Hoho Medziphema town to forgive and reconcile with each other, citing the spirit of jubilee and Tokhü Emong.
He also emphasised the importance of speaking one’s mother tongue, prioritising it over other dialects. He also assured the Lotha people and Nagas that his doors are always open to those in need, offering support and welcome.
Patton also reaffirmed his trust in the PDA government, expressing confidence in Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio’s leadership. He further reassured the Naga people that there’s no leadership dispute within the PDA government.

Zhaleo Rio, in his address, expressed gratitude to the Lotha people for their unwavering support and confidence. He specifically thanked Y Patton for his significant role in fostering unity and cooperation.
The advisor emphasised that leaders’ decisions have a profound impact, noting that right decisions lead to unity, peace, and development, while wrong ones lead people astray.
While expressing his highest regard for Patton's leadership, Zhaleo also urged the Naga people to transcend divisive ‘isms’ and unite to achieve their goals and aspirations, promoting a message of unity and cooperation.
Earlier, the celebration commenced with an invocation prayer by S Patton; welcome address was delivered by Pichamo Humtsoe, chairman of Lotha Hoho, Medziphema town; followed by a speech from the theme speaker C Mozhui, the first chairman of Lotha Hoho, Medziphema town.
