Dimapur, Jan. 22: The Lotha Hoho has declared a ‘ban’ on “performance of election duties” in Wokha district in accordance with a resolution that the organization took recently. The community organization issued a brief note on Sunday stating the censure.
The organization stated: “This is for the information of all presiding officers, 1st polling officer, 2nd, 3rd and grad 4th staffs assigned to perform election duties for ULB election, Feb 2017 under Wokha district, that as per the resolution of the Lotha public on 20 Jan 2017 at Wokha, performance of election duties or application of Election Duties Certificate (EDC) and Postal Ballot (PB) are banned within Wokha district by the LH.”
Anyone applying for either EDC or PB will be held “responsible for any eventuality, relating to ULB election of Feb 2017,” the Lotha Hoho stated.
“It is also upraised to all concerned that the LH, Oking Wokha will be answerable to the concerned authorities for preventing election duties officers, for performing election duties,” it added.
