DIMAPUR — Titans XI and Friends Club have booked their semi-final berths at the ongoing 13th edition of the Lotha Football Championship (LFC) played at local ground, Wokha town, on Monday.
In the third quarter-final match, Titans XI defeated Vipers Football Club 4-3 via penalty shootout after the match ended in a 1-1 draw during regulation time, an update stated.
Vipers got an early break in the fifth minute when Suben Ngullie scored just outside the penalty box to give their team a lead. But Titans came back strong in the second half and scored the equaliser in the 80th minute through the boots of Arroy Ngullie. In the penalty shootout, Titans edged past their rivals 4-3.
Playing the last quarter-final match, Friends Club defeated Airfield Football Club 1-0 with Zuben scoring the lone winning goal for his team in the 10th minute.
