- DIMAPUR — The
Lotha Eloe Hoho (LEH), apex body of Lotha women, conducted an awareness
campaign on varied issues related to women covering Sanis, Bhandari and Ralan
villages under Wokha district on February 3 and 4.
- The LEH president, Thungbeni Ngullie, stated that the main
purpose of the campaign was to empower women by educating them, thereby making
them aware about their rights and privileges. She urged the women to march in
unity with one voice and spirit for progress and uplift of women community.
- A DIPR report stated that the LEH convenor of cultural
committee, Mhalo TM Lotha, enlightened the women on proper usage of traditional
attires recognised by LEH on different occasions. Observing that the aged-old
traditional designs, motifs and patterns are being replaced by modern designs,
Mhalo encouraged the Lotha women to preserve and protect the original
traditional attires.
- She further read out the resolutions adopted on the usage of
Lotha women traditional attires.
- The chairperson of CWC, Wokha and advisor of LEH, Mhonchumi
Humtsoe, spoke on issues pertaining to child rights protection. For seeking
