Dimapur, Feb. 7 (EMN): Catholics from Lotha community were reminded to advocate forgiveness and love one another as true Christian by following the teaching of Jesus Christ.
The tenet to love and forgive one another in the true Christian spirit was reinforced by Rev. Dr. Renthungo Odyuo, secretary to the Bishop of Nagaland, in his speech at the general conference of the Lotha Catholic Union (LCU) held in Riphyim village on February 2 and 3 on the theme “Love one another as I have loved you” (John 15:12). Jonas Yanthan and L Peter Humtsoe were the speakers.
Delivering his homily in the 1st session, Rev. Fr. Renthungo exhorted the gathering to forgive and love one another as a true Christian advocating the principles of Jesus Christ. The programme was chaired by Hayio Francis Ezung, while the welcome address was delivered by M Samuel Ezung.
In the second session, Rev. Fr. Zubemo Thomas Odyuo, exhorted the gathering from his personal experience and how he responded to God’s call to be his servant.
In the afternoon session, Jonas Yanthan spoke on the topic “As a Catholic Today,” in which he urged the congregation to be honest as the very Christian faith has been shaken in the name of secularism. He was of the believe that truth alone would revive them.
L
Peter Humtsoe, speaking on the topic “Different ways of responding to God,” he cited many examples from the bible and encouraged the gathering to respond positively to the call of God.
