Dimapur, Jan. 5 (EMN): State lone Rajya Sabha MP, KG Kenye, has called upon the students of Tsupfume village to be ‘forward looking’ so as to build a productive and progressive society. Terming the present generation ‘not productive,’ he said ‘what we have today have been inherited from the past generations.’
Speaking at the 35th general session of Razeba Students’ Union (RSU) on January 4 in Tsupfume village, Kenye queried whether there was any achievement that could be considered an asset to the world community.
“There is nothing worth mentioning to be called a positive or significant contribution. Whatever we have today has been earned through the sweat, blood, life, and sacrifices of the past generations,” stated an update issued by the PRO to MP.
Speaking about identity and unity, Kenye mentioned that Nagas are tribal people in which every Naga belongs to one tribe or the other. “We are a tribal society and we will continue to live as tribal people till the end; it is our identity,” he maintained.
While advising the students to utilise their knowledge judiciously, Kenye urged them to use it in a positive way, build a productive and purposeful society, and protect and promote the interest of their land and the people.
Saying that the world has become a small global village with the arrival of the latest technologies in the 21st century, Kenye urged the students to march ahead and not get stagnant in one place.
