Dimapur, July 8 (EMN): The students of Unity College were encouraged to reflect and imbibe their traditional customs and heritage at a programme held under the theme “A talk on Naga Customary Laws: A case study of Sumi Chieftanship and the tradition of establishing new villages.”
The principal of Unity College, Dr Lichumo Enie while addressing the students, advised them "to look back at our roots and learn the customs and traditions that governed the Naga way of life", a statement from the collage read.
Kahuto Chishi, the resource person for the event, spoke on the "migration in Sumi context, the concept of Sumi chief and the tradition of establishing new villages," it informed.
The programme was jointly organised by the department of History, English and Political Science of Unity College.
