Dimapur, Aug. 31 (EMN): Longwa Village Council (LVC) and the public of Longwa village in Mon district have appreciated Mansukh L Mandaviya, union minister of state for shipping (Independent charge) and chemical and fertilisers, Government of India, for visiting the village on August 30 along with his wife.
A village council press release stated that it had submitted a representation with a request for speedy development of International Trade Centre in the village, public ground and proper road connection between the village and district headquarters.
It stated that the union minister had assured to look into the matter by taking up the issue with the higher authority.
The village council also acknowledged Pohwang, Advisor of Fire and Emergency RR and SIRD; Deputy Commissioner, Mon; Superintendent of Police, Mon; CO 35 Assam Rifles, Mon; and other dignitaries who accompanied the minister.
After the departure of the minister, dignitaries from Mon headquarters and Phomching sub-division visited the drug detoxification and rehabilitation centre at Longwa and distributed food items and other materials. LVC has thanked all concerned for their act of kindness and generosity towards the people of the village in general.
