
The external assessors, state and district facilitators, and
the staff of HWC-SC Longmisa during the NQAS assessment on Monday.
- DIMAPUR — The National Quality Assurance
Standards (NQAS) assessment of Health and Wellness Centre-Sub Centre (HWC-SC)
Longmisa under Mokokchung district was undertaken on Monday.
According to an update, HWC-SC Longmisa was assessed for 12
packages:
1) Basic oral health care
2) Care for common ophthalmic and ENT problems
3) Care in pregnancy and childbirth
4) Childhood and adolescent health care services
5) Elderly and palliative health care services
6) Emergency medical services
7) Family planning, contraceptive services and other
reproductive health care services
8) Management of common communicable diseases and outpatient
care for acute simple illness and minor ailments
9) Management of communicable diseases, including national
health programmes
10) Neonatal and infant health care services
11) Screening and basic management of mental health ailments
12) Screening, prevention, control and management of
non-communicable diseases
- The NQAS external assessors were Dr. Manas Joyti Kalita,
district medical officer, Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh, and Dr. Chandan Sarma,
joint director, Office of the Joint Director Health, Nagaon, Assam.
- The state and district facilitators for the NQAS external assessment
of HWC-SC Longmisa were Dr. Takusunep, deputy CMO, Mokokchung; Dr. Maongkala,
medical officer, PHC Mongsenyimti; Dr. Ajemrenla Ajem, DPM (QA), Mokokchung;
and Dr. Imnanoktsung Longchar, DPM (QA), Kohima.
- NQAS was launched in 2013 with the aim of improving the
quality of care (QoC) in public health facilities. NQAS is accredited by the
International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua).
- The assessment saw the participation of the staff from
HWC-SC Longmisa, led by Moamenla, CHO, HWC-SC Longmisa; VHC members from the
community, led by the village council chairman of Longmisa Village; and staff
from the office of the chief medical officer, Mokokchung.
