
DIMAPUR — Longleng district, like the rest of the world, observed the 4th International Day of Clean Air for blue skies on Thursday, with the theme 'Together for clean air.'
The theme highlighted the urgent need for stronger partnerships increased investment and shared responsibilities for overcoming air pollution, an update informed.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]Dr. Limasangla Imchen, an epidemiologist, spoke on the effects of air pollution on health, especially that of traffic police personnel, occupational hazards and the importance of seeking regular medical checkups.
She also stressed green initiatives like planting trees and preservation of greens in and around the surroundings.
The Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) team also distributed N95 masks and IEC booklets about air pollution and its impact on human health to the traffic police personnel.
