
DIMAPUR — District Mental Health Programme, Longleng, observed the ‘World Mental Health Day’ at District Hospital in Longleng town on Wednesday on the theme "It is time to prioritise mental health in the work place."
An update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Longleng, stated that the theme speaker, Dr. Lipok Phom, nodal officer of Mental Health Programme, spoke on healthy working environment where one can talk about their problems and removing discrimination and bullying in work place, dealing with stress and managing stress.
He also encouraged everyone to recognise mental health in oneself and warning signs and also to help others or colleagues by recognising symptoms in them. He further spoke on how to maintain good mental health that is by talking about one’s feelings, mindful about one's activity, balanced diet, managing healthy work environment and balanced work life.
The programme was chaired by Bingmei Phom, NCD counselor, while an invocation prayer was said by Lipom Phom and keynote address was delivered by Abemo Lotha, clinical psychologist.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ongtok Phom, psychiatric social worker.
Officers and staff of the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) also celebrated World Mental Health Day at the hospital premises on Wednesday.
