Dimapur, Sep 7 (EMN): The District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting of Longleng was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, Y. Denngan Avennoho Phom on September 6 at the DC’s conference hall.
The DC in his welcome note thanked the officers for successful conduct of Independence Day celebration and Mock Drill Exercise in the district. He appealed to the officers to extend cooperation and maintain cordial relationship among the HODs to venture the task ahead jointly in the district. He also informed that every officer will be assigned with election duty and urged the officers to be present in their posting place.
The Vice President PPC also reminded the officers to be in their posting to redress grievances of the public. He also thanked the officers for their contribution and support for renovation of Longleng Changtongya road. He further advised the officers to construct security fencing in their respective offices to avoid encroachment by the private individuals.
The board also deliberated at length over the management of Rs. 5 lakh donated by Parliamentary Secretary RD, Pangnyu Phom during Independence Day celebration. The PPC clarified that it was resolved to utilize the amount jointly by the PPC, Drivers’ Union and the District Administration.
The DC also urged the PPC to utilize that money judiciously for the development of the district and asked the concerned parties to submit the report on execution of the work and its expenditure.
The ADC Longleng also reminded the departments who have not submitted their contribution for repairing of the road to submit to the SDO civil Longleng at the earliest.
The EE PHED, Longleng Er. Benjongtoshi submitted the proposal along with DPR for water supply to Longleng Hq. He also highlighted DPR project and suggested to forward the project to the DoNER through the planning department for early implementation. The board recommended and forwarded the proposal.
The board also recommended the approval of declining of Higher Secondary (HS) Section from Yingli College as per the UGC norms and establishment of Higher Secondary Science and Commerce at Bautung Memorial Higher Secondary School, Longleng. The Board further recommended for recognition and registration of Mount Sinai School at Hukphang village.
The DAO Longleng Dr. D.K. Chetri also apprised the board about the harmful effects of pesticide and other chemical fertilizer to the consumers. He said awareness should be created to the public and suggested to ban it in the district. Supplementing to the DAO the CMO Longleng, Dr. Ritu informed that the medical department has banned DDT powder due to misuse by public.
The ADC Tamlu T. Renabemo Odyuo also spoke and reported about landslide and blockage of road under his jurisdiction due to incessant rain during the monsoon. He informed that the matter was also reported to the DC and the EE PWD (RB) for necessary action. He further requested the concerned department to clear the road at the earliest.
