
DIMAPUR — The Longleng District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for July was held at the DPDB hall on July 19, chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of DPDB Longleng, Dharam Raj.
The meeting began with a welcome address by MLA and newly appointed DPDB chairman, B Bangtick Phom, followed by a review of the previous meeting's minutes, according to a DIPR report.
The agendas discussed and approved by the board during the meeting included a proposal for the creation of range officers, Forestry at Tamlu and Sakshi; the construction of a godown for the Civil Supply department at Tamlu; the creation of PA to DC at Tamlu, ADC HQ; a proposal for the construction of a new official DC residence at Longleng; the change of the village name from Shetap to Moichongching; the immediate functioning of Polytechnic College and ITI in Longleng; and grants-in-aid to Landmark School, Kongshong village, which were forwarded to the concerned department.
The registration of Avoda Society and Lenjetepjen Society was also approved and forwarded to the concerned department.
The chairman, in his brief speech, acknowledged and expressed his gratitude to the government of Nagaland for appointing him as DPDB Chairman, Longleng. He also sought cooperation from the members and the people of Longleng, requesting all district officers to be present at their respective places of posting.
During the meeting, the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary department presented their departmental activities. The Agriculture department was entrusted with giving a PowerPoint presentation at the next DPDB meeting. Additionally, Bangtick Phom launched the Hills Coffee Roasters product in Longleng.
