Dimapur, June 3 (EMN): The lifeline of Longleng district Langso Ayung Bridge which is situated between Changtongya to Longleng district was once an upsetting route for travellers to Longleng. The bridge currently is a nerve wrecking experience for commuters as the bridge continues to wear out but adamant to stand still as a lifeline for commuters to Longleng district.
Seen in the picture is the bridge by a concerned commuter. The photo itself describes the harrowing moment commuters and drivers especially have to experience to pass through the bridge.
The bridge which is almost 50 years old was a concrete overpass but over the years it developed deep holes and various organisations from Longleng district occasionally repair the bridge voluntarily with temporary touch-up.
Vehicles have to slow down at frequent intervals to negotiate the deep hole on the bridge. The hole on the bridge has not been repaired, resulting in the widening of the gap. Organisations had filled up the gap with wood which still stands strong but without assurance.
