Longleng District Science Competition 2025 held

DIMAPUR — The Longleng District Science Competition 2025 on the topic “Empowering Indian youth for global leadership in Science and innovation for Vikshit Bharat” was organised by the District Education Officer (DEO), Longleng, on August 13 at the DEO conference hall, Longleng.


According to a DIPR report, the competition was sponsored by the Directorate of Science and Technology.


Altogether, nine schools (both government and private) from Longleng district participated in the competition. The panel of judges for the competition included EAC Longleng, Tsalimse Sangtam; Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Science, Yingli College, Jonathan S Singsit; and PGT, Bautung Government Higher Secondary School, T Imtimangyang Sangtam.

During the programme, SDEO Longleng, M Narola Longkumer, spoke on the concept of Vikshit Bharat and the importance of developing young minds for a better India, while the District Education Officer, Longleng, Tinumayang, gave the concluding remarks, urging all teachers and students to give importance to developing a scientific approach to day-to-day learning.


He also stressed the importance of confidence-building measures, where teachers are expected to give importance to the holistic development of a child in the school


Yukphen B Phom from Christian School, Tamlu, won the first position, while Sreeniti Mahapatra from Government High School Yachem and Henmei Nency from St. Joseph School were placed in the second and third positions, respectively.
