Longleng board instates committee to monitor traffic

Dimapur, Oct. 17 (EMN): The Longleng district administration has instated a committee to oversee activities that will monitor traffic. The committee will consist of key establishments such as the police and the administration. The government publicity agency the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) issued updates on Wednesday informing about the development. The monthly meeting of the Longleng district planning and development board was conducted on October 15 in the deputy commissioner’s conference hall in Longleng. The meeting was presided over by M Shayung Phom, deputy commissioner of the district, and vice chairmen of the board. The issues the board discussed included concerns about the district hospital of Longleng, parking and traffic problems besides the condition of road conditions in the Okshok area, the IPR stated. The board decided to set up a committee to monitor traffic, the updates stated. The committee will consist of the Traffic establishment, administration, Police department, ward president and “LTSU.” The committee is to monitor traffic and parking within Longleng town. Also, repairs on the Longleng-Changtongya road will be started as soon as weather favours, the IPR informed. Phom requested the members to visit schools once in a while. He urged the members to be sincere and to attend board meetings regularly. Dr. Henshet, vice president of Yingli College, requested members to contribute books, water filter, and financial help to the college as the National Assessment and Accreditation Council team will be visiting for inspection of college for grading.
