Dimapur, June 12 (EMN): The Nagaland Law Students’ Federation (NLSF) has asked the Nagaland Lokayukya, which was set up earlier this year, to take stern legal action on the officials involved in misappropriation of students’ scholarship fund. The statement came after the state government said that the Lokayukta had taken up the alleged State Technical Scholarship funds issue. While lauding the state government for establishing Lokayukta in Nagaland, the NLSF asked the anti-corruption ombudsman to take strict action against those involved in the students’ scholarship scam. It demanded that the guilty be suspended and prosecuted besides recovering the amount. The federation stated that it wouldn’t remain silent but would dub the Lokayukta as “not for people” if it fails to take legal action against those responsible for the misappropriation of scholarship fund. It also expressed apprehension over the way Upa-Lokayukta was appointed.
