
Members of Phek District Legal Services Authority during the
1st quarterly National Lok Adalat in Phek town on Saturday.
- DIMAPUR — A total
of 291 cases worth INR 3,87,35, 490 were settled during the 1st quarterly
National Lok Adalat held across Nagaland on Saturday.
- The National Lok Adalat was organised under the aegis of the
Nagaland State Legal Services Authorities (NSLSA), wherein 11 sitting benches
were set up by the District Legal Services Authorities (DLSA) at the district
court premises.
- An update from NSLSA stated that the matters taken up were
mostly at pre-litigation and pending stage which included bank recovery cases,
loan, telephone bills and MACT cases.
- In Longleng, 6 cases of bank recovery with an amount of INR
153,185 were disposed off, while in Mokokchung, a total of 19 bank recovery
cases were successfully disposed resulting in a settlement amount of INR
15,05,340 and in Wokha, 11 pre-litigation bank recovery cases were disposed off
with the total settlement amount of INR 16,40839.
- In Zunheboto, two pre-litigation bank recovery cases were
disposed off with the total settlement amount of INR 33,24,719, while in Phek
29 pre-litigation bank recovery cases of NStCB (Phek, Pfutsero and Chozuba)
were taken up and disposed off with a settlement amount of INR 22,90,243 and in
Kohima five telephone bill recovery cases and 35 bank recovery (pre-litigation)
were settled with a total outstanding amount of INR 67,40,888.
- In Dimapur, 64 cases were disposed off with a total
settlement amount of INR 1,44,08989, while in Kiphire 15 pre-litigation bank
loan cases were settled with an amount of INR 31,65,604, while in Mon 31
pre-litigation bank recovery cases were settled with outstanding amount of INR
52,14,775 and in Tuensang 7 bank cases were disposed of with a settlement
amount of INR 4,51,853.
- In Peren, 67 pre-litigation cases were settled resulting in
a combined settlement amount of INR 19,15,239.
