Lakhuti-I Officers’ Forum (LOF) held its general session at the residence of James Mhonbemo Humtsoe in Chumukedima on January 9.
N Thomas Lotha, MLA who is also native of Lakhuti village while exhorting the forum, said the village should thank the Almighty God for blessing so many officers from the village and urged the forum to foster unity and oneness to take forward the village. He said the forum should act as a catalyst for the benefit of the Lotha community in particular and for the Nagas in general.
Reminding the gathering for progressive society, starting from village council, he said we need to have strong based village council and urged the forum members to contribute their wisdom to make the village council a strong foundation for all round economic development of the village. Thomas also assured to assist the forum to his best capacity for the benefit of the village.
During the session, the forum also decided to conduct a one day seminar on “Prospective review of the socio- economic advancement of Lakhuti village” on January 29 in Lakhuti village.
The synopsis of the proposed seminar was presented by Mhathung Yanthan, Director of Land Resources & Treasurer LOF.
Earlier, President of Lakhuti-I Officers’ Forum (LOF) and Additional Director of Geology & Mining, Etsungmomo Kikon, who chaired the session, welcomed the members and also thanked James Mhonbemo and family for hosting the session.
Highlights of the programme included invocation by Lalongo Yanthan, Associate Pastor DLBC, annual report by LOF secretary and Additional General Manager NST, O Elhibemo Yanthan, vote of thanks by vice president LOF and Joint Director of Treasury and Accounts R Nzanbemo Yanthan, and benediction was proposed by M John Humtsoe, SDO (R&B) & Cathechist.
All the bonafide members are informed to attend the proposed seminar positively.
