Lockdown 4.0 relief begins in Kohima

Kohima, May 15 (EMN):
Kohima district administration and District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) have started its first phase of Lockdown 4.0 relief distribution to daily wage earners at Kohima local ground on Friday.

Hundreds of beneficiaries have availed the relief on day one. Earlier, 50 forms each was given to all the 19 wards by district administration and respective ward chairmen and members were assigned to identify the potential beneficiaries.

Accordingly, the colony leaders had identified beneficiaries including taxi drivers, labourers, migrant workers, etc and submitted the list to the administration.

Those who are already availing the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojna, free rice from Antyodaya and priority households ration card holders are not eligible to avail the relief material.

The items distributed to the beneficiaries included rice, sugar, tea leave, mustard oil, onion, dal, potato, chilli powder, turmeric, soaps (washing and bathing), and salt.

According to the state’s Covid-19 dashboard, as much as 200773 stranded migrants were provided with assistance. Out of the total migrants assisted, 79111 are local migrants while 69183 are non-local migrants and 52479 other needy persons.

Meanwhile, beneficiaries have thanked the administration for providing them with relief material.
