A press note mentions that, UROK is born out of the desire to build a voice from North east India to create a global urban street wear story combining the rich cultural, heritage and dynamics of North East in collaboration with creative artists and craftsman.
UROK will launch an exclusive capsule collection infusing Naga culture, tradition and heritage and build a modern narrative for global audience. The Limited Edition of the collection is said to be officially launched at the Hornbill festival and thereafter will be available on the UROK e-commerce platform.
Further the note states that the brand is also looking to collaborate with local artisans from Nagaland to take their work in a modern context and make it available to larger audience while the brand is also set to explore and tie-up with local retailers to bring international designs to the local market. It seeks to create and build upon local creative industries and support the local creative economy.
