KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 17: To connect and enable artists of all disciplines to interact, share views and showcase their talents, Department of Art and Culture (Art) Wing organised a one-day ‘Art Ensemble’ on the theme ‘Explore’ at State Museum, Kohima, on November 17.
Launching the programme project titled ‘A thousand art project,’ Director of Music Task Force, Gugs Chishi said creative aspect of a person takes shape through imagination, adding the artistes need to be appreciated for bringing out the creativity through various from of what is already there.
While mentioning that music and art are both creation of creativity from daily life activity, he said it depends on how to create and express themselves through their arts.
While expressing his happiness to be connected with the youth, Chishi maintained that art will enable them to value their life as a Naga and also bond with one another for a common shared feeling. Also appreciating the organisers, he said this platform will provide an opportunity for each artist to find himself or herself through art creativity.
Art Executive, Vilalhou Noudi, while highlighting the objective of the programme, said its main focus is to bring together various artistes for interaction and share their views and to boost the talents among the youth and students.
Lamenting on the dilution of Nagas rich cultural values and traditions with the intrusion of modernisation, Noudi asserted on the need to revive the unique traditions through various forms of arts.
While stating that art can be used as useful tool to bring change in the society, Noudi expressed hope that through this programme the upcoming talented youth will be benefitted.
Giving a brief introduction of ‘A thousand art project,’ N Mhao Odyuo said it is a project to initiate, interact and impact the artistes for a common vision of all disciplines to work independently under one goal, a common achievement for all. The project, he informed, aims to collect 1000 art works for every event, connecting with 1000 artistes, meeting and helping 1000 young upcoming artists.
A live performance by Divine Connection and live performing art by a young painter, Nzan Odyuo simultaneously was the show stopper of the day.
The day long events included live performance by Aim Longchar, students’ painting competition, android phone photography competition, Naga art gallery, live painting, and origami demonstration with renowned artistes from various disciples as judges.
