Wokha, Jan. 9 (EMN): The 13th general session of Lotha Middle Range Students’ Union (LMRSU) got underway in Akuk village under Wokha district on January 9 with R Santsu Kithan, district agriculture officer, Wokha, as the introductory guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Kithan advised the students to equip themselves to compete with the present generation if they really want to avail government jobs, adding present day is for people who are dedicated and determined. He asked the students to identify their talents and strive to achieve the goal with determination.
Kithan also cautioned the students’ community against using drugs and alcohol. Pointing out that Wokha shares the longest border areas, he said Lothas have high advantage in getting easy access to drugs and alcohol. On the economic front, he asked the educated youth to take up any jobs to compete with non Nagas, who mostly dominate the markets.
On the blames caused by invasion of wild elephants in Wokha district, he has asked the LMRSU members to remain vigilant to ensure that victims are compensated for the damage. He also asked LMRSU to ensure implementation of government schemes in the area.
Earlier, invocation was said by Renben J Ovung, pastor of Akuk Baptist Church, while the welcome address was delivered by Ezanthung Kithan, president of Akuk students’ Union.
