LKM Open Penalty Shootout concludes with 6 Brothers as champions; DMC Councillor I Sentinuklu Jamir calls for better sports infrastructure.

DIMAPUR — The Langpangkong Students' Conference (LKM) Open Penalty Shootout, organised in aid of the LKM Sports Excellency Award, concluded on Saturday at the State Stadium in Dimapur.
Held alongside the LKM Night Carnival, the shootout had a total prize pool of INR 1,55,000, according to an update. I Sentinuklu Jamir, councillor, Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), attended the last day as the special guest.
In his address, he encouraged youngsters to be disciplined players and reminded the gathering that Nagas possess exceptional sporting talent, yet many are unable to fully utilise their potential due to inadequate sports infrastructure. He appealed to the government to prioritise better facilities for the youth.

During the programme, the purpose of the LKM Sports Excellency Award was also highlighted by Imtinuklu Jamir, LKM sports secretary.
He stated that the LKM Tournament, initiated by the apex body in 1940 and handed over to LKM in 1951, has long united the Langpangkong range. To preserve this legacy and inspire young talents to reach state, national, and international levels, LKM introduced the Sports Excellency Award.
After a spirited contest, 6 Brothers emerged as champions, RM Boys secured the runners-up position, and Akuli was awarded best goalkeeper.
The Night Carnival, organised in support of the same cause, also concluded, attracting a large turnout, it said.
