Dimapur, Aug. 10 (EMN): Livingstone Foundation International in Dimapur welcomed new students on August 9. The institution issued a press release to the media on Saturday informing about the programme.
A highlight of the programme was the Mr. Fresher and Miss Fresher contest in which various enthusiastic contestants from among the fresh batch of “grade-XI” students participated and “showcased their mettle in facing the crowd” and answering some challenging questions posed by judges, the updates stated. Easter Somungla Jamang was adjudged the Miss Fresher for 2019 while Vioka K Sumi was declared the Mr. Fresher for 2019, the updates stated.
Other title winners were Kito A Yepthomi as Mr Popular and Eypenti Aier as Miss Congeniality, the school stated.
Earlier in address at the event, the school’s chairman Dr. Andrew Ahoto urged the students to use their individual gifts that God had bestowed upon them and not to follow the crowd ‘as one is the master of one’s own destiny.’
The press release stated that he challenged the students to be ‘understanding and lovable’ and also to consider each other as members of one single family. He also cautioned them against engaging in ‘either physical or psychological bullying’ and against ‘backbiting against each other,’ the updates stated.
The press release read: “He expressed his desire to see the children to transform not only in academics but also in their thoughts and vision. According to him, one can only shoulder responsibilities as a leader if one has the capability of embracing everyone. He also called upon the students to always possess a positive mindset and to imbibe positive values from LFI and above all to be kind and good human beings and to see the best in everything.”
