Dimapur, Sep. 23 (EMN): With an objective of enhancing living standards, a three-day training programme on livelihoods for Community Service Providers (CSP) of Satakha and Ghathashi blocks was conducted at BMMU office, Satakha in the second week of September which was attended by 43 trainees.
The main objective of the training was to train and impart knowledge to the CSP on various livelihoods aspects of agriculture and livestock.
The CSP in turn will transfer the same to the SHG women in their respective villages to enhance their source of livelihood and remain self-sufficient.
The resource persons for the training were the District Functional Specialists: Dr. Bongtok Phom (Livestock) and Atenjen Lemtur (Agri).
The training comprised of both theory and practical sessions. Phom imparted hands-on training on poultry and pig husbandry, housing and sanitation etc. Atenjen Lemtur delved on various topics such as nutritional garden, second crop and generic practices.
The trainees were also trained on seed selection, soil management, insect and pest management, plant diseases and nutrients.
