Mokokchung, Aug. 22 (EMN): Live Laparoscopic Surgical and Gynaecological Workshop cum CME organized by Indian Medical Association (IMA), Nagaland Chapter in collaboration with ABAM got underway at Dr. Imkongliba District Memorial Hospital (IMDH), Mokokchung on Wednesday evening.
The President of IMA, Nagaland Chapter Dr. Kezevituo Keditsu, in his welcome address, highlighted that IMA has more than three lakhs MBBS doctors as members. He added that the object of the workshop is to render help to the people of Mokokchung who needs medical help and also to popularize laparoscopy.
The president, while expressing apprehension about the National Medical Commission (NMC) Bill proposed by the Centre, said that it was against the interests of the medical profession and would cause injustice to the public.
Therefore, he made a clarion to the member of Indian Medical Association (IMA), Nagaland Chapter to be vigilant about the bill which would reduce regulatory mechanism to ‘a puppetry’ with its strings attached to the government.
Later, Dr. Temsula Alinger, Surgeon CIHSR Dimapur spoke on the topic Laparoscopic cholecystectomy, Dr. Kezevituo Keditsu, Gynaecologist from Putuonuo Nursing Home, Kohima on topic Laparoscopic hysterectomy and Dr. Victo A Wotsa, Gynaecologist, NIKOS Hospital and Research Centre, Dimapur on topic Guideline of safe Laparoscopy and prevention of complication.
Three-day workshop will include exclusive live surgery workshop, guidelines for safe laparoscopic surgery, Gynaecological and General Surgical laparoscopic surgeries, prevention and management of Laparoscopic complication.
On Aug. 23-24, live laparoscopic surgeries will be run concurrently in IMDH and Impur Christian Hospital, Mokokchung by medical specialists from reputed hospitals in the state.
