Kohima, July 8 (EMN): Commemorating ‘Forestry Week’ (Van Mahotsav), the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Little Flower Higher Secondary School (LFHSS), Kohima, has planted 120 tree saplings. The ‘Forestry Week’ was observed from July 1 to the 7th on the theme "One tree, one student."
An update from the school stated that a total of 90 students from Arts stream and 20 students from Science stream have participated in the week-long event.
The plantation drive was carried out under the guidance of the school principal, Lucy Gangmei, along with NSS programme officer, Narotola Imchen, and assistant programme officer, Kevifeno Kire. Kazhüni, a teacher from the school, informed that NSS volunteers have keenly participated in the plantation drive.
It further added that the objective behind “One tree, one student” was observed in order to facilitate the importance of trees in India and around the world as "trees are the beacons of hope for a better future".
