- Ahead of the scheduled event, on February 18, in a press
conference held at Hotel Blue Heaven in Dimapur, the working president of LMFN,
Deepak Chettri, said that the event aims to empower the youth and celebrate the
cultures of the non-Naga linguistic minority communities permanently settled in
Nagaland, while providing the youth with a platform, as they are viewed as the
future of the country.
- Chairman of LMFN, Bishnu Bhattacharjee, on the occasion,
said that this is the first event of its kind that the forum is organising to
showcase the cultural heritage of the different communities.
- He mentioned that the forum is focused on empowering the
people of the non-Naga linguistic minorities in the state and has nothing to do
with issues related to immigration or communities outside the state. He noted
that the youth today are forgetting their roots, and this event would serve as
a platform to celebrate their heritage.
- Arijit Sharma, the event convenor, added that the event aims
to unite people and urged all to be a part of it.
- The forum invited everyone, Nagas and non-Nagas alike, to be
a part of the event and witness the showcase of the rich cultures of the
non-Naga communities during the programme. All non-Naga leaders from different
communities are also invited to attend the programme as guests.
- Besides the traditional cultural show, the event will also
feature discussions on education, empowerment, basic amenities for youth, and
other aspects of welfare and development. The event will also serve as a
platform for the youth of the community and the communities in general to
remember and embrace their roots, which many are forgetting.
