
Resource persons along with the participants during the
teachers’ training and Linguaskill launch at Nagaland University in Kohima on
February 24.
- DIMAPUR — English
department of Nagaland University (NU), in collaboration with Cambridge
University Press, organised a teachers’ training workshop and Linguaskill
launch on February 24 for the teachers of affiliated colleges and research scholars
for promotion of employability of the graduates.
- The basic objective of the one-day workshop were developing
future-ready talent for crafting tomorrow’s leaders through communicative
skills, preparing graduates for the global stage with strong communicative
skills to meet employer expectations and shaping the future of campus
placements with enhanced communicative English.
- An update from the university stated that experts from
Cambridge University Press, Kolkata, namely Samir Prasad, regional manager, and
Tillotama Mukherjee, ELT expert at CUP, deliberated on the relevance of English
language skills and Linguaskill launch.
- Prof. GT Thong, pro-vice chancellor of Nagaland University,
inaugurated the workshop, while Prof. N Das, head of English department; Dr. R
Vasanthan, associate professor; and Ambar Chatterjee, area manager of Cambridge
University Press, Northeast India; coordinated the workshop.
- Forty teachers and scholars from different institutions of
Nagaland participated in the workshop.
