Dimapur, Sep. 3 (EMN): A lineman was electrocuted to death at Metha colony in Dimapur at around 1 pm on Friday while he was coating the electric wire with a plastic pipe.
The victim is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters.
An official at Metha power control room informed Eastern Mirror that the victim named Sandesh Nunisa, aged around 55, was about to retire from service next year, 2022, and his son also worked in the power department.
The official said that the victim did not inform the control room while working on a utility pole of Metha colony power feeder line near the Sub-urban police station and didn’t remove the cut-out fuse of the transformer.

There was power outage in the area from 12 noon to 1 pm due to load shedding at Nagarjan sub-station and the incident happened when load shedding time lapsed.
It took more than half-an-hour for the victim’s colleague and passersby to bring down the lifeless body from the utility pole using a bamboo ladder.
